Are you a seasoned Project Manager (m/f/d) with a passion for navigating complex technology projects towards successful outcomes? We are seeking a skilled individual to join our Delivery discipline as a Project Manager, based in EMEA. 

As a key player in our team, you’ll oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring efficient delivery within project imperatives. If you’re adept at fostering client relationships, managing budgets, and facilitating seamless collaboration within project teams, we want to hear from you.

Your responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Lead project teams in delivering large-scale technology/web projects with significant budgets.

  • Coordinate resource planning in collaboration with the other PMs and the Delivery lead.

  • Define and refine project scope, estimates, and resource requirements.

  • Organize and facilitate workshops to establish project needs and relationships.

  • Monitor project progress through regular meetings and address any team issues.

  • Conduct ongoing project risk analysis with the team.

  • Assess and communicate the impact of scope changes to stakeholders.

  • Cultivate a culture of shared responsibility for successful project delivery.

  • Provide guidance to project teams on how to effectively navigate and utilize agile methodologies and frameworks.

  • Ensure adherence to time tracking and accounting requirements.

  • Measure project productivity and efficiency, and gather key performance data.

  • Proactively identify and remove impediments hindering project progress.

  • Professional working-level German language proficiency.

Client Management

  • Maintain regular communication with internal teams (Engineering, Commercial, Finance) and external stakeholders and partners.

  • Cultivate partnership relationships with clients, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity to their needs.

  • Understand the workings and requirements of partnered accounts.

  • Foster positive and functional relationships within internal project teams.

  • Communicate regularly and proactively address challenging conversations.

  • Adapt to emergent client and project needs with flexibility and agility.

  • Support the Delivery leads with account management responsibilities.

Team Management*

  • Responsible for the wellbeing, efficiency and professional development of the team members.

  • Mentor and facilitate the growth of the people within their team by defining professional development goals, regular 1:1s, feedback and review rounds, annual performance reviews.

  • Identify gaps in the professional development of the team and work towards growing the team professionally.

  • Take corrective action when necessary.

  • Manage interactions with the internal team professionally and with empathy.

  • Communicate regularly; be proactive in facing difficult conversations with the team members.

  • Lead by example and encourage best practices.

  • Additional/different team-related tasks, as the company needs and structure requires.

*NB The team management responsibilities are temporary, as we are in the process of restructuring engineering line management at Syde.

Must-haves

Technical Competencies

  • Experience in project management, preferably within an agency context.

  • Deep knowledge of agile principles and frameworks.

  • Proven Scrum knowledge and/or experience (ideally certified).
  • Proficiency in Atlassian suite, Google Workspace, Zoom; comfortable to onboard to tools like Runn, Personio, Pandadoc, Billomat, Tresorit, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Expertise in creating, maintaining, and managing project documentation.

  • Ability to plan project allocation and contingency effectively.

  • Experience in prioritizing tasks/epics based on business value and project imperatives.

  • Experience in budget tracking and management.

  • Proficiency in risk assessment and management.

  • Confidence in managing client relationships effectively.
