I like the freedom at work and the great team. I can manage my time more effectively. At the moment, I’m in a learning process but I’m already looking forward to the day when I can contribute to the team and drive the projects forward.

In this article, we want to introduce Ploypailin Pungvongsanuraks, our Project Manager / Team Lead. When Ploypailin joined our agency as a Project Manager in September 2021, we asked her a few questions to get to know her a little better.

This is Ploypailin Pungvongsanuraks

Ploypailin lives in Bangkok, Thailand.

How would you describe yourself?

I am not an extrovert or an introvert. Some days I just love being alone with a book or a drawing set. On other days, I just want to go out and socialize.

I am an active person and always have a list of things to do. I love exploring and learning new things.

When I travel, I love to go for a walk in the morning and explore the area. To me, learning something new means feeling rewarded and appreciating the little things in life.

How do you spend your spare time?

I have a long list of activities such as exercising, boxing, running, reading, gardening, cooking, cleaning, watching movies/documentaries, or exploring new places and activities. The list goes on and on …

However, I prefer all activities that have to do with art. I love visiting art galleries and museums. I also like to be in nature.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot of green space in Bangkok. So whenever I’m on vacation, my partner and I leave Bangkok behind and then go to a beach or the mountains.

What is important to you?

For me, family, friends, health and meaningfulness are the topics that concern me the most. I always value true friendship and family bonding. It’s not about quantity but it’s the quality that makes relationships last forever.

In the past, I often did not pay attention to my health and listened to my body when it gave me certain signs. This then had a negative effect. However, over the past few years I have come to realize that we are all our own best doctors – not necessarily in terms of curing serious illnesses but in terms of self-monitoring and being aware of our physical and mental health .

As another point, I believe that a sense of purpose is important as it gives meaning to life and leads us into a satisfactory future. This journey will last a lifetime, but at least I’ve already started it.

Can you tell a little story which desribes best who you are?

I love making plans and then implementing them. I prefer days when I can get things done, exactly as I planned. Still, there is always a place for the curious child in me. There are days when I just wander around and explore new paths, new cafes or new surroundings.

I often look at random things and then wonder how they were made, why people invented them in the first place, or how we would live without them. Most of the time I find an answer on the Internet. If not, I’ll just philosophize about it with my partner and we’ll let our imaginations run wild to find a possible answer.

Ploypailin’s way to Syde

I have almost 10 years of experience in project management. I started with offline projects, especially event organization. Then I switched to digital and IT-related projects like websites and mobile applications.

It all started with a degree in industrial engineering (bachelor’s degree). Then I studied Global Entrepreneurship with a master’s degree.

I enjoyed the process of planning, organizing and managing. So I always look for these things directly in job descriptions rather than in a job title.

I have worked for a lot of companies but not many of them truly cared about and respected the employees’ well-being.

At Syde, I can see from management’s mindset, way of working, and how my colleagues treat each other that the company really focuses on people. That is also reflected in the quality of the work.
