The first thing that excited me about Syde is that there are people from all over the world working here.

In this article, we want to introduce Yassviny Gopal, our Service Desk & Support Specialist. When Yassviny joined our agency in September 2020, we asked her a few questions to get to know her a little better.

This is Yassviny Gopal

Yassviny lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Yassviny sits smiling on the sofa and wears a colorful Indian Saree with big earrings and many bracelets.

Kuala Lumpur is very busy and multicultural, and Malaysia is famous for this city. There are many people and lots of traffic. But it’s very beautiful actually. I love the colonial architecture and also the many big buildings and skyscrapers, like for example the Petronas Twin Towers that are among the tallest buildings in the world.

How would you describe yourself?

I am very passionate about my work. Because I love what I do, I have a steady source of motivation that drives me to do my best. In general, I love meeting new people and learning about their lives, culture and backgrounds. I can almost always find common ground with strangers, and I like making people feel comfortable in my presence. Even if it is not always easy to approach new people, I think it’s worth getting in contact. It’s always exciting.

How do you spend your spare time?

I love sports. One or two times a week, I play badminton. Throughout my life, I did many types of sports. When I was in school, I was a sprinter and even represented my district and schools in tournaments. After that, I started with other sports like hockey and futsal, which is similar to football with just a bit different rules. And now I play badminton.

I also love watching football and I am a huge fan of Manchester United. I’d never miss one of their matches! My passion for the team started in my school days. Since then, I have followed their news and the development of the team. Today, I know every team member by name and I am thrilled when watching their matches ‒ especially when they compete against their biggest enemy, Liverpool. It’s not always easy since my brother and sister are Liverpool fans. So, there’s always an argument when Manchester United and Liverpool have a match.

When I am not doing or watching sports, I meet my friends or visit my siblings. I don’t often watch movies or TV. I`m more the active type of person.

Yassviny’s way to Syde

I studied Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering. After my graduation, I worked as an analyst in the field of bug fixing and solving issues. I love how technology brings simplicity to human life. That’s the reason I chose to pursue my studies and career in this field.

The first thing that excited me about Syde is that there are people from all over the world working here. And remote working practiced by Syde is very interesting. It definitely saves time and costs. And I felt this would be great for my work-life balance.

I am very happy that I am here now. In my role, I can solve problems and help people. That’s very satisfying for me. I enjoy having contact with many clients from all over the world and also having a good time with my colleagues.
