In this article, we want to introduce Daniel Deck, our Director of Finance. When Daniel joined our agency as a Business Operations Manager Accounting in June 2021, we asked him a few questions to get to know him a little better.
This is Daniel Deck
Daniel lives in Oldenburg, Deutschland.
How would you describe yourself?
I’m a tolerant and honest person, who likes having people around. On the job, I’m serious and professional, while being a decent human being at the same time, who likes to joke and laugh a lot. I like to learn new things or just to try them. Furthermore, I’m interested in history and politics and their correlations. Material things are not important to me.
Tolerance and humanity are core values for me. These values are not only held high at Syde, but are actually lived, for which reason I’m extraordinarily happy to be a part of this team.
How do you spend your spare time?
With my family or friends, reading, traveling, celebrating festivals, having a party or just relaxing my soul with Netflix. I also like being active and doing different sports (e. g. jogging, football, beach volleyball, squash, spikeball – according to weather conditions and mood) – variety is important to me so I like to try new sports.
Daniel’s way to Syde
I’ve always been keen on economics, and working in this field is a pleasure. However, my craftsmanship is rather restricted. So I finished my education as an industrial clerk after examinations from commercial high school. Afterwards, I studied business administration with a legal focus. During my semester vacations, I gained further practical experience in tax consultancies. After my studies and for the last almost 5 years, I worked for a huge audit and accounting company (Wirtschaftsprüfungs- und Steuerberatungsgesellschaft), where I learned a lot and got to know great people.
Syde is a very attractive employer for me due to the lived company values – which I totally identify myself with – and the internationality and diversity here. I’m looking forward to sharing my expertise, helping the company and the team, as well as learning new skills.
